"From the Lion's Mouth"
In 2013 I studied abroad to Jordan for 9 months on the Boren language scholarship to study Arabic and politics. There, I had the opportunity to work with NGOs operating inside Zaatari camp in the country's response towards the Syrian refugee crisis. I had an undergraduate research grant from my university to produce a documentary video, and the result is the video posted below. Shooting took place over several months, over countless visits during work to the camp, and all footage is original material shot be myself. The main focus was examining Jordan's overall response to the crisis from the point of view of Jordanians, and the video has been screened multiple times by my university. Editing done in Final Cut.
"A Video Worth a Thousand Photos"
Late in 2013, the devastating Typhoon Haiyan swept across Southeast Asia, wreaking irreparable damage to areas of the Philippines. In December of that year, after tireless fundraising, I had the opportunity to volunteer with All Hands Volunteer in the Philippines, particularly the cities of Ormoc and Tacloban, where the damage was most severe. The month I spent on Project Leyte was one of the most memorable adventures of my life, and the following video was created to celebrate and commemorate the experience as well as all the amazing people I met. Editing done in Final Cut.
"Berlin Interviews"
The following video was created during a semester I spent studying in Berlin, Germany. The project was to compile a video of public opinions gathered from street interviews on the question of "What are the top three things that concern Germans today the most?" Most of the responses focused on immigration issues, as well as the financial crisis, along with a few comments on globalization and the environment. The interviews were conducted in German. Editing done in Final Cut.
"Elevator"
The following video was a classroom exercise. The objective was to shoot a clip that featured some kind of human interaction. My group's focus was to draw out the awkward nature of elevator encounters, where two people are briefly stuck in a box, but make no interaction. Editing done in Final Cut.

"Trinity Blood"
